Fairlop Waters is an organiser’s dream. Easy access to public transport, ample car parking, short walks to and from the start and finish and an event centre with toilets and food and drinks to purchase.
Thank you everyone who helped on the day. Everything appeared to go smoothly and there weren’t too many competitors wishing to start at the same time.
Thanks also to Vision Redbridge for use of the Boathouse Cafe for our download area.
And finally thanks to good weather - cooler than the previous weekend, and for staying dry until 10 minutes after leaving Fairlop with all finished and all equipment collected.

I really enjoyed revisiting Fairlop Waters to plan this event, not least because the weather was perfect for my all reccey runs, in contrast to some very wet trips to plan last year's Parkrace. Fairlop offers pretty unique terrain with surprisingly tricky navigation in places; I hope you (mostly) enjoyed the challenge and the scenery. Thanks to all the runners who gave me constructive feedback, as I am still very much learning. I now better appreciate that Yellow does not just mean "short" it should also mean "straightforward", and will be mindful of this in future. A surprising number of smiles at the finish were very rewarding, and I was delighted with one runner's description of a "jolly course".
